2002 Winter Olympics: Women's Hockey Gold For Canada

In a surprising upset victory the Canadian women's hockey team beat the American team 3-2 for the Olympic gold medal in Salt Lake City on February 21, 2002. Coming into the Olympic games with a 35 game winning streak, the US team was the favourite for the gold medal.

This is the first Olympic gold medal in Hockey for Canada since the men last won it 50 years ago in 1952.
