The Royal Caribbean ship Voyager Of The Seas holds the record for the largest cruise ship in the world. The ship is 1020 feet long, 157.5 feet wide and has 17 decks rising more than 200 feet above the waterline. The ship has a gross tonnage of 138,000 tonnes and a cruising speed of 23.7 knots.

Since the ship's maiden voyage on November 21, 1999 it has cruised the Caribbean continuously with a capacity of 3,114 passengers and more than 1,000 crew members. Amenities include a 1,350-seat Broadway style theatre, an ice rink, the largest casino afloat, rock climbing wall, in-line skating track, full court basketball and the Royal Promenade running two football field lengths long and four decks high.

The Voyager of the Seas is only the first of a five ship Voyager-class of ships. Explorer, Adventure and Navigator have joined Voyager and one more will be completed in 2003.
