In the early morning hours of Saturday July 3, 2004, pop star Britney Spears married a childhood friend, Jason Allen Alexander (22) from Louisiana. The marriage took place at about 5:30 am at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were not drunk at the time. The marriage was an impulsive move "just for the hell of it" that neither took seriously.

By midday Monday, a Clark County judge had signed an annulment order, and the marriage was over after only 55 hours of marriage.
