New Orleans Saints Receiver Disciplined For Phone Call

In a New York Giants - New Orleans Saints NFL football game on December 14, 2003, after catching the second of four touchdown passes in a 45-7 victory, Saints receiver Joe Horn made a choreographed cell phone call in the end zone. The phone had been hidden under the padding used to protect the goalpost. When Horn initially failed to find the phone teammate Michael Lewis found it and passed it to Horn who faked making a call to his mother.

The Saints drew a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for the stunt. The NFL is considering fines or suspension for Horn.
