Youngest Driver To Win A Formula 1 Poll Position

At the 2003 Malaysian Grand Prix, Spanish driver Fernando Alonso became the youngest driver and also the first Spaniard to win a Formula 1 poll (beating a record formerly held by Rubens Barrichello) at the age of 21. March 22 qualifying session marked the second race for the new single-lap qualifying rules. Alonso took the poll with a lap of 1:37.044 to share the front row with his Renault team mate Jarno Trulli.

Alonso turned his first poll into a third place finish in the Sunday race.
