The California Condor is the largest flying land bird in North America. The Condor (Gymnogyps Californianus) can have a wingspan of 9 ½ feet and weigh up to 23 pounds. Similar to a Vulture, the Condor is mostly black and has a bare head and neck.

The California Condor is an endangered species with only 199 left in the world and only 73 living in the wild. Condors are often killed when they come into contact with power lines.
